From time to time whereverart.com organizes competitions, which is ethical and appropriate for the artists. Eliminate costly expenses and display your work alongside that of other like-minded individuals. Our goal is to promote new and emerging artists, as well as those who may have already established themselves within the artistic community. The aims of these competitions are:
- to honor excellence within the respective communities
- to provide a market for the exposure and proliferation of original works from across the world
- to give the artistic community an international gallery while celebrating the diversity of visual expression
- to provide artists a place to view, share ideas and exchange thoughts on artworks from around the globe
These competitions do not require original art to be submitted, because whereverart.com competitions are internet-based so the Artists must submit digital images ONLY. Traditional negatives or slides can be converted to digital images by having them scanned. Any contests or competitions require submission of new, original work but most artists may feel that they do not want or cannot afford to take time off from other income-generating projects to create original work for a competition on a speculative basis. It is therefore not mandatory for them to submit artworks created specially for the competition. Instead it can be any old or published work but it must be relevant to the contest theme.
A panel of distinguished judges selected by whereverart.com will review all entries. The entry will be judged on the basis of articulation of the contest theme, creativity, and artistic merit. You can send in your entries on the contest theme in any artistic medium. All work must be suitable for public display. General Rules
You do not have to be a member of whereverart.com to participate in any of the competitions. All you have to do is complete the Entry form and pay the requisite fees. In addition, you should be at least 18 years of age and must provide us a live and continuing e-mail address to which notifications could be sent. However, whereverart.com does not promise to use all or any of the entries which have been submitted particularly if they are deemed to be technically inept, salacious or blatantly pornographic.
By entering the competition, you give your assurance that:
- you are the original creator and own the work submitted and that nothing has been copied or added from another person’s work;
- the whole copyright and any other form of intellectual proprietary right in the work is vested in you;
- you have obtained model releases from any persons featured in your submitted images/artworks allowing publication and use of the works as contemplated by the entry rules and conditions; and
- you indemnify and hold the whereverart.com harmless from any claims, actions, proceedings costs and expenses arising as a result of any allegation that the relevant entry is not wholly entitled and authorized to allow publication by the whereverart.com.
All dates refer to Pacific Standard Time (GMT-8 hours). All entries must be received by whereverart.com not later than 11:59 p.m. of the deadline date. whereverart.com cannot be held responsible for entries that are lost or late due to the Internet or computer malfunction. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
whereverart.com reserves the right to alter, amend or close the competition if necessary.
